First City Acupuncture interventions coming to life
The first City Acupuncture intervention from the interdisciplinary workshop held in October last year in Belgrade, came to life these days in Savamala.
“Ghost people of Savamala symbolically represent the personification of life issues in Savamala. Our first “ghost” should point out that the brim of Savamala should have a greater connection with the Sava river. Another “ghost” is the granny knitting, because in Savamala port grandmothers sell their handicrafts on the street and are being constantly chased away. The third “ghost” character is crazy for night life, and there is a good-natured spirit of a bull-terrier because homeowners need to find their place here as well. “- explain the authors from studio “Kriška”.
The last “ghost” is near Mixer, representing the need for green areas in the neighborhood, and the authors are hoping that their “ghosts” will appear on other walls in Savamala as well. In Belgrade, another five interesting solutions are to be implemented in the Savamala area.
Meanwhile, realizations of the Zagreb workshop, held in Trnje this February, are in full swing.
Last Thursday the realizations team invited children and parents from local schools (OŠ Jure Kaštelan and OŠ Trnjanska) to cooperate in the implementation of the first two interventions: carpet beating racks, also known as Pimp my Štanga, and PARKing, which has changed its name to The Cube.
On Friday, the diligent team of participants and organizers headed to Trnje to do a preparation for painting and decorating the beating racks, in which children will actively participate on Tuesday May 21st 2013. The chalk drawing workshop for The Cube will be held on the socialiazing plateau space on May 25th. In front of us is a period of intensive work in all cities and we look forward to the opening events of City Acupuncture implementations, followed by cultural and public events and performances.
